Step by Step

The EU project INTERCEPT starts with StadtAuto Bremen.

At that time the still separately working companies in Aachen, Bremen, Cologne and INVERS define the future base for the company-wide validity of the smart-card. This can be realised only if the device standards are standardised.

Invers develops the "small " on board computer - very easily to build in and made only for the access control of locations with lockers.

The company-wide, client-based reservation software is activated.

The energy management for lockers and on board computers is fundamentally revised, so that the battery-operated devices can constantly remain "on air " ? an important presupposition for the active reservation-check and voice-connection of the lockers.

The reservation-website www.cambiocar.com opens its doors. The integration of public transport?s timetable functions enters the test phase.

Prototype of the locker model, already optimised to the electronic standard.

All technical modifications merge into a standardised device and software generation. In Bremen the updated devices are tested on the new standard.

Bremen is testing the active reservation-check. Car mistakes and overdrafts suddenly decrease.

The first Bremen customers telephone to the reservation service directly from the locker.

The connection between the cambio reservation and the public transport timetable information enters the real-time operation.

The first cambio-wide travels with a single smart card are reserved.

The new technology generation is installed in all cambio-cities.

The EU- Project MOSES starts. Aim of the project: cambio becomes system-provider for CarSharing companies.

The reservation-software becomes multilingual. The website too.

Cambio Belgium starts its work.

The employees?-manual and the administrative software go ?on-line?.

Open end reservation and CambioCar.Net

The first CarSharing companies become service customer.

Customers? self-administration in the internet.
